Tasks

The following is a summary of our unit’s primary responsibilities:

  • Developing policies and procedures for faculty member participation in internal/external conferences and scientific meetings;
  • Maintaining a database of relevant information as to each faculty member’s participation in an external conference, symposia, or workshop;
  • Maintaining a database of relevant information as to each faculty member’s participation in a high-profile internal conference, symposia, or workshop;
  • Maintaining a database of relevant information as to each visiting academic participant and dignitary participating in each event;
  • Maintaining a database containing historical information about conferences and other important events held within the university;
  • Helping faculty members to utilize their research and event participation to further develop the body of knowledge in their areas of expertise;
  • Guiding faculty members through the external conferences, seminars, and workshops application and approval process;
  • Interfacing with representatives of foreign governments to obtain both incoming and outgoing visas for foreign and domestic professors and their staffs;
  • Collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to obtain approvals for scientific and other events;
  • Preparing annual plans and budgets for scientific and other events both internal and external;
  • Preparing periodic progress and financial reports concerning internal and external events for submission to the Vice Rector of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research;
  • Prepare statistical and analyses and databases for submission to the Vice Rector of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research.
